The Hiram Bingham train is equipped with two classic 1920s pullman cars that hold no more than 84 passengers. During this luxurious journey through breathtaking andean landscapes, you get to enjoy a tablecloth lunch and dinner served with free-flowing wines by an attentive staff. Enjoy transfer rides reserved for Hiram Bingham passengers and tour world-famous Machu Picchu. Before you head back to Cusco (and reality), stop for afternoon tea at the Belmond Sanctuary Lodge, the only hotel on the ancient site.


Train itinerary


08:00 am. Private transfer from your hotel in Cusco to Poroy Railway Station. 

08:30 am. Arrival to Poroy Railway Station. The staff on board will place you in your assigned seat.

09:05 am. Departure of Hiram Bingham train to Machu Picchu town with a stop at Ollantaytambo Railway Station. 

11:00 am. Gourmet brunch on board in the route Ollantaytambo/Machu Picchu town. If have any dietary or food restrictions, let us know in advance. English-spanish guides on board. They will tell you about stories, histories, and places of interest on route. Live music at Observatory car. Soft drinks, pisco sour, local beer included in the bar.

12:24 pm. Arrival to Machu Picchu town. Hiram Bingham guides will escort you to the bus station. Special Hiram Bingham bus to go up and reach Machu Picchu gate.

01:30 pm. Our guided tour begins. One Hiram Bingham guide each 10 travelers, according with the rules of park authority. Supplement apply for private guide in other languages, english or spanish. 

04:00 pm. Tea time at Machu Picchu Sanctuary Lodge, a Belmond hotel. Travelers can stay inside the citadel until 16:30 pm to take your last pcitures and then meet with your guide to go down.

04:45 pm. Departure in the shuttle bus to go down. Shopping time at Machu Picchu artisan market.

05:50 pm. Departure of Hiram Bingham train to Poroy Railway Station nearby Cusco. Stop at Ollantaytambo Railway Station.

07:00 pm. Gourmet dinner on board in the route of Machu Picchu town to Ollantaytambo Railway Station. Live Music on board.

09:16 pm. Arrival to Poroy Railway Station (nearby to Cusco). Private transfer to your hotel in Cusco.
